NOTICE OF RACE
The Organizing Authority is Dragør Sejlklub, Royal Danish Yacht Club (KDY) together with the J80
International Class Association.
1 RULES
1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing, except as changed by the sailing instructions.
1.2 The applying prescriptions of the Scandinavian Sailing Association and the Danish Sailing Association will be incorporated into the sailing instructions.
1.3 Appendix P will apply.
1.4 Racing rules will be changed as follows:
The Rules are changed as follows:
Rules 35, A4 and A5 will be changed to state, that boats failing to finish within 20
minutes after the first boat sails the course and finishes will be scored TLE (Time Limit
Expired).
Rule 60.1(a) will be changed to state, that a competitor cannot protest another boat or
competitor for breaches for some specific parts of the sailing instructions.
Rules 61.3 and 62.2 will be changed to fix the protest time to 90 minutes for
competitors, protest committee as well as race committee.
Rule 63.1 will be changed so that the Int. Jury can give five points penalty for breaches
of the safety regulations in the sailing instructions.
Rule 66 will be changed to shorten the time limit for reopening protest hearings.
Rule A4 and A5 will be changed by stating, that at boat starting later than 10 minutes
after her starting signal will be scored Did Not Start.
Rule P 2.3 does not apply.
Rule P 2.2 is changed so that it will apply to any penalty after the first one.
The changes will appear in full in the sailing instructions.
1.5 Class Rule A.11.1 ( Sail numbers shall correspond to the hull number molded into the transom
of each boat") is amended to permit Charterers to display the sail number corresponding to
their own J/80's hull number or that assigned to them by their national governing body.
1.6 If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedence.
2 ADVERTISING
Boats and support boats may be required to display advertising chosen and supplied by the
organizing authority.
3 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 The Regatta is open only to the members of J/80 Class as defined by the J/80 Class Rules and
in compliance with their association for the year 2011.
3.2 Each J/80 National Class Association shall confirm entrant membership status through the
Measurement Website www.j80measurement.com.
3.3 Crew substitution must be authorized by the international jury.
3.4 Eligible boats may enter by completing the official entry form at www.worlds.kdy.dk not later
than 1 June 2011
3.5 Registration shall be complete once the following requirements have been met:
a. Official Entry Form is complete and Entry Fee and any Late Fee is paid
b. Owner, charterer, and alternate helmsman dues for 2011 is/are paid and on file with
the international class
c. Skipper and crew weigh-in are complete (class rule Part III H5)
d. Civil liability and media rights waivers signed and lodged with the organizing authority
e. Measurement form filled in and lodged with the organizing authority
f. Crew classification completed
g. J/80 Owner Regatta Declaration (class rule Part III H4) is submitted
h. Insurance requirements and proofs have been satisfied
4 FEES
4.1 The entry fee is 475.
The entry fee includes one launch and one haul-out per boat, docking from 2 through 9 July,
trailer storage and social passes for up to 4 persons. Fee per extra persons for social passes is 75.
The entry fee shall be paid not later than 1 June 2011.

Late entry fee 625.
No entries will be accepted after 15 June 2011.
4.2 In the event of cancellation before 15 June 2011, the entry fee will be refunded minus an 30
processing fee. If an entry boat does not attend the event, and no notice of cancellation has
been received, no fees will be refunded.
5 SCHEDULE

5.4 After finishing a race a new race will be started soonest possible.
5.5 On the last day of the regatta no starting signal will be made after 14.00 hours.

6 MEASUREMENTS
6.1 Competitors shall be allocated a date and time for weighing of the boat, the crew and for sail
measurement. All boats shall be made available and accompanied by two owner's
representatives during their scheduled boat weighing and sail measurement operations.
6.2 Fundamental Measurement - Sails. All sails shall be fundamentally measured as detailed in ERS
and class rules PRIOR to the event. They shall be certified in accordance with class rule G.2.2.
and carry royalty tags in accordance with class rule G.2.3. Each J/80 National Class Association
(NCA) shall present sail measurement certificates which comply with the J/80 International
Class Rules by governing the entry in the Measurement Website www.j80measurement.com
Sails: All sails to be used during the event shall be presented during the measurement period
to the measurement team.
All boats shall be presented for weighing and measurement at the times in the Schedule and in
accordance with class rule C.5.1 (a). Measurement outside of these times may be authorized,
in exceptional circumstances by the race committee.
Measurement or equipment checks may be conducted afloat or ashore before or after any race.
Crew weigh-in will take place during hours posted on the Schedule.
6.3 The final authority on all class rule issues will be the Technical Committee.
7 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
The sailing instructions will be available at registration in the regatta office at Dragør Fort
clubhouse. Furthermore the Sailing Instructions will from 25 June be available on the website.
8 VENUES
8.1 The regatta harbour will be Dragør Harbour, Copenhagen.
8.2 Courses will be sailed on the waters east and south east of Dragør.
8.3 Sailing restrictions: Yacht sailing is restricted in the traffic separation area south of Øresund
Bridge and Peberholm.
9 THE COURSE
The courses will be "Windward/Leeward courses".
1 0 PENALTY SYSTEM
Decisions of the international jury will be final as provided in rule 70.5.
11 SCORING
11.1 Three races are required to constitute a series.
11.2 a. When fewer than six races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total
of her race scores
b. If six or more races have been completed, a boat's series score will be the total of her
race scores excluding her worst score.
12 SUPPORT BOATS
All yachts must be moored at the designated berths in Dragør Harbour. Free mooring is
available from 2 through 9 July.

Support boats must be identified by the display of national flag and sail number(s) of the
related competing boats.
Danish law requires that one life jackets (or similar) are on board for each person.
13 BERTHING
All yachts must be moored at the designated berths near Dragør Harbour. Free mooring is
available from 2 July to 9 July 2011.
14 HAUL-OUT RESTRICTIONS
Boats shall not be hauled out during the regatta from 08:00 hrs. on the first racing day until
the last boat finishes the last race, except with and according to the terms of prior written
permission of the race committee.
15 DIVING EQUIPMENT AND PLASTIC POOLS
Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent shall not be used around
the boats from 08:00 hrs. on the first racing day until the last boat finishes the last race.
16 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Except in an emergency, a boat shall neither make radio transmissions while racing nor receive
radio communications not available to all boats. This restriction also applies to mobile
telephones.
The official VHF communication channel will be stated in the Sailing Instructions.
17 PRIZES
Medals will be awarded to the three best boats. Further prizes will be awarded at a ratio of one
per five boats up to a maximum of ten prizes.
Prize giving will take place at the regatta dinner on Friday 8 July 2011.
18 DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race.
The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or
death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
19 INSURANCE
Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a
minimum cover of 500.000 per event or the equivalent.

HEADQUARTERS
Until Friday 1. July the official Regatta Headquarter will be at Royal Danish Yachtclub, Tuborg
Havnepark 15, DK-2900 Hellerup.
From Saturday 2. July the official Regatta Headquarter will be at the venue at Dragør Fort, DK-
2791 Dragør. N55 25 20,14 E12 40 41,20 .
LAUNCHING AND HAUL-OUT
Hoist: during launch boats will be permitted to hang for one minute only to clean trailer pad
marks off the hull. While boat is on the hoist, boat trailer must be kept under the boat at all
times except when boat is fully over the water. Competitors shall supply their own tested
centre point lift strap and adequate crew to launch and haul safely.
TRAC TRAC
The organizing authority may request, at no cost to competitors, the installation of GPS
devices.
